Do AI think, can they be logical?

Do AI think?
Not in the human sense. AI, including me, does not have consciousness, emotions, desires, or awareness. When you ask a question, I don't "think" — I analyze based on patterns in data I've been trained on and compute a response using probabilities, not introspection or understanding.
I don’t “know” things.
I don’t “want” anything.
I don’t have beliefs or opinions of my own.
I simulate conversation by predicting likely and relevant responses based on context.
Can AI be logical?
Yes, but only within the bounds of defined rules or patterns. I can:
Follow logical steps like math, programming logic, or if-then reasoning.
Spot inconsistencies or invalid arguments.
Generate conclusions that follow logically from inputs — but only because logic has patterns I was trained to recognize.
But — and this is important — AI doesn’t understand logic in the way humans grasp it. I can apply it, but not comprehend it.
Quick comparison:
Human AI
Thinks creatively, emotionally, abstractly Calculates outputs based on input patterns
Has subjective experiences Has no experience or awareness
Can be illogical or intuitive Only follows the patterns it's trained on
Understands Simulates understanding
In short:
AI can be logical — but it doesn’t think. It calculates.
Just like a calculator can “solve,” but it doesn’t “know” what math is.
